Top 10 Deer Hunting Gear You Need For Hunting Season

Hunting season is upon us. Killing deer, squirrels, alligators, turkeys and other gain animals is what makes me feel like a man. Growing up in Waco, Texas is kinda city living. So my dad, brothers, and I would drive out to Meridian to go hunt on a ranch. One thing my father preached to us was to have good gear, be safe, and always carry a pocket knife on you at all times. Unless you are going through an airport.

Camo jackets and pants are basically a requirement for hunting. I wouldn’t dare leave the campsite without wearing camo from head to toe. That’s like asking a deer to run away.

Take it a little step further and get a thermal fleece camo balaclava. In the mornings it is going to be really cold and you will want that extra protection against the wind chills.

Going back to staying warm. I even have a pair of military outdoor gloves that help keep my hands warm. You would be surprised with how many other guys I know that waste time keeping their hands in their pockets. Then when a deer comes they are in a rush trying to get their fingers on the trigger. So get you a nice pair of gloves so you can keep your hand near the trigger at all times.

If you ever wanted to relive the moment of a sweet victory, then get yourself a little stealth camera. I started making a little movie every year from random video footage of our campsite and deer stands just for the fun of it. Surprisingly it came in handy, because we could see where the deer are actually coming from and where the hotspots were to build a deer stand.

Communication is key when you are hunting or at least holding a gun. Accidents and critical moments can happen so easily and so fast. So being able to reach people when you need to is extremely important. So say you catch a deer and need help lifting it, then you just page your buddy to come lend a hand.
